Oh and if you ever want to see these recipes in action head on over to Snapchat (username: famarana) and see what I get up to in my kitchen! And of course Instagram (fatimarana_) can’t be left behind, so I post kitchen tips and pictures of food (because that’s what instagram’s for right??) so you can just head on over there as well!

Here’s what you’ll need:

1/2 cup softened butter

1 cup +2 T sugar

2 T brown sugar

1 t ground cinnamon

1 tsp vanilla powder or extract

2 eggs

1/2 cup milk

1 1/4 cups flour

1 tsp baking powder

pinch of salt

Preheat your oven to 350F and grease a medium sized baking dish.

In a small bowl mix together the 2 T sugar, 2 T brown sugar and 1 t ground cinnamon and set aside.

In a medium sized bowl cream together the butter and 1 cup of sugar. Then add in the vanilla. Beat in the eggs, one at at time. Then add in the flour, baking powder and salt. Mix and gradually add in the milk. Pour half the batter into the greased baking dish. Sprinkle over half of the cinnamon sugar mix, pour over the remaining batter and sprinkle over the remaining cinnamon sugar.

Depending on the size of your dish this cake can take 25-30 minutes to bake, and it might take longer in a loaf pan.

This cake and a cup of coffee and you’ll be in heaven.
